Super Foods are nutrient powerhouses that pack large doses of antioxidants, polyphenols, vitamins, and minerals. There’s no official scientific definition of a super food, but it’s generally accepted that super foods contain high levels of these much-needed vitamins and minerals. They can also be a key source of substances that shield our bodies from cell damage and help prevent disease.

By definition they are calorie sparse and nutrient dense, meaning they pack a lot of punch for their weight as far as goodness goes.
