One of the fastest food bloggers to receive global recognition is one of our Ambasssadors here at Olympian Labs, Diane Wagner. Diane started tweeting four years ago about her passion and she quickly became a name well-known in the food world. Her first interview was with Giada De Laurantis for her blog and from there Death Bed Food took off. You might wonder why Olympian Labs chose a food blogger to represent their brand.  First, we consider many of the products at OL meal replacements.  The pea protein, greens8in1, and beef protein powder are necessary to be tasty as well as nourishing. Second, Diane is an avid shopper and amazing knowledge base for what is trending in the womens' beauty world.  We recently sent her some Skin Serum for her review because we know she's on top of the latest products. It's with these thoughts that we are honored to have Diane as part of the team.  She's hip, fun, and for sure there is always good food in her circles!Read More

Last weekend, Olympian Labs sponsored a booth at The Europa Games in Phoenix, AZ.  These games are known for non-traditional events such as arm-wrestling and bikini contests. At the same time, they are very intense when it comes to Obstacle Race Courses (OCR) and weight-lifting. OL had quite a few people at the event to represent our company.  Here are two of our main staff members, Donna and Stacy, showing us their muscles.  As you can see, we have fun with supplements!

When we started this Olympian Labs Ambassador program, I knew that I wanted Rene Wiley to be a part.  As a fellow spin instructor, the room brightens up when he walks into it.
Rene is known for his motivational speak inside and outside of the spin studio.  While on the bike, he screams "you can do it!", "you are almost there!", and "you are amazing!" throughout class. When you see Rene in the lobby, he again is inspirational and positive.  Every time I walk away from our conversation, I am happy, joyful, and full of life. Last month, Rene added a further training product to his portfolio.  He currently leads one of LA's top 5 run clubs out of Equinox in West LA.  He's seen here leading the crew and I know for sure that's keeping them in top spirits!

Here is a re-post of a blog from Supermarket News.  We wholeheartedly agree!   Retailers should cater to lifestyle diets and focus on protein, said panelists at SN’s Natural Products Expo East track in Baltimore.

Now that the protein craze has gone mainstream, Ronak Sheth, chief product officer of FoodEssentials, said he was seeing an increase in protein innovation and marketing in categories like cereal and Greek yogurt. Suppliers are finding new places to tuck in protein. Sheth pointed to protein drinks that combine 100% whey isolate (high in protein) with either a Gatorade-like base or coconut water. New products at Natural Products Expos — East and West — show a lot more products incorporating protein-high ingredients like chia, quinoa and pea, and an emerging number of products using beans, cranberry and lentils, according to panelist Eric Pierce, director of strategy and insights, New Hope Natural Media. The panelists also said that reaching out to niche “food tribes” like vegans and people who follow the Paleo diet can result in reaching a greater group of health-oriented consumers who follow some aspects of these diets. The Paleo diet — which encourages a diet similar to cavemen — is even getting the attention of nonfood suppliers; Reebok has its own bacon that fits the diet's standards and is free of MSG, nitrites, nitrates, natural sweeteners and natural preservatives. Citing a Nutrition Business Journal estimate, Pierce said that natural and organic sales have a 11.7% growth, compared to total food sales growth of 4.2%. Vegetarian and vegan sales are 22.9% and expected to triple by 2018, while Paleo sales have gone up by 56.3% and are expected to quadruple by 2018.Read More

Last week, the Olympian Labs employees got a special treat with some delicious donuts.  At first, I thought "what the heck? Aren't we supposed to be promoting health and nutrition all the time?" Then, I realized that everything is fine in moderation. With those thoughts, I jumped right in and savored the most awesome sweetness. These donuts didn't last long in our office!
