I know some of you may have heard me say this, but here it goes again.

Don’t get stuck on “Someday Island”.

Now some of you are reading this saying, “What the heck is this someday island place he’s talking about?”

Someday Island is the place where dreams die and never come to life for all its visitors and residents.

Some people spend their entire life on Someday Island. Many of you know this place. We have all been there at some point in our life, some of us are still there, and some of us will never leave.

You know the place and the people. You may even be one of them saying things like:

Someday I will start working out.

Someday I will start eating right.

Someday I will travel the world.

Someday I will save for retirement.

Someday I will write that book.

Someday I will start my own business.

I could go on and on but you get the idea.

Someday Island

The sad reality for most people is that “someday” never comes. They become stranded on someday island, trapped and crippled by the fear of the unknown and the fear of failure.

I am here to tell you today, don’t make it to the end of your life, wishing you would have tried something.

Don’t look back wishing you would have done more.

Your life is not a dress rehearsal for something greater, your life is here and it’s happening now.

Don’t waste another minute on this place called Someday Island. Nothing great ever happened there.

If there is something you want to do, no matter how big or how small, take one step today, take one giant, massive, mind-blowing action towards that dream in your head.

If nothing else, write it down on paper, set a date on it, and make it happen.

For example: “I will take that trip to Europe by December 31st 2015”. Now you have a goal with a deadline. Putting a little pressure on yourself will ultimately bring joy to our lives and can be profound.

Take it a step further, tell a friend, tell co-workers, tell your family, tell anyone who listens. Now you just turned up the heat on yourself again. There’s nothing like a little external social pressure from your inner circle to really help you follow through.

Ordinary people live their life on someday island, but if you are reading this you are anything but ordinary. I urge you to follow these simple steps today, not tomorrow, not next week, not month, but today in the next few seconds if possible.

The sooner you take action the sooner your dream will come to life and become an experience and a precious memory that will mold you, shape you, and change you for the better.

Don’t look back on this life wishing you had done more with your opportunity, your talent, and your time.

Go out today and make success mandatory!

Until next time eat well, train hard & be nice to people!
