Here is a quick and delicious protein smoothie that has a perfect blend of protein and carbohydrates.  It also has some texture with the addition of almonds, making it a more filling choice.  It would make a perfect to go breakfast or post workout snack.  Use frozen fruit if you prefer a colder smoothie or you can add ice if you are using fresh fruit.

Serves 1

Berry Smoothie


1 cup coconut or almond milk (unsweetened)

1 cup spinach

¼ cup strawberries

¼ cup blueberries

¼ cup almonds

1 scoop of protein powder (try Olympian Labs Pea Protein)


Blend spinach with the milk until smooth, add the protein powder and blend again.  Next, add the berries and blend again.  Finally add the almonds last and blend until they are broken down.  Enjoy!
