When you juice your vegetables, you’re taking in the essential nutrients that your body needs to remineralize. Your body immediately absorbs all of these nutrients because juice is in liquid form and you end up giving your digestive system a rest because it doesn’t have to breakdown any solid foods. Instead, the nutrients go directly into your cells and bloodstream, making it much easier on your body. As a result, you feel lighter and more energetic throughout the day.

Green vegetables contain very low levels of sugar. They help you to detoxify and cleanse by helping your digestive system to eliminate waste. And the more you consume vegetables in their fresh and raw form, the lesser you crave junk foods.

The best part about juicing is that you can often add vegetables that you would not typically enjoy eating in their raw form, transform them, and combine them in a way in juice form that makes you actually enjoy them!

When your body is well nourished, has all the minerals it needs, is hydrated, and has its cells dancing, it performs optimally.

This juice version below is very palatable. While the apple adds a hint of sweetness, the lemon off sets any of the strong flavors of the greens, and is also quite alkalizing and detoxifying as well.

You can play with the amounts of the different ingredients until you reach a balance that is tasteful to you.

Note: If you don’t have a juicer, you can also make this recipe in the blender. Directions and alterations to do this are noted below the recipe.

Remineralizing Green Juice

  • 1/2 of a Lemon (or more), peeled
  • 1/2 of a Green Apple
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, peeled

Directions:

1.  Juice all ingredients. Serve over ice, if desired.

Blender Directions: Alternately, you can make this recipe in the blender instead of juicing. To do this: also add 1 cup of ice, 2 cups of water and then blend in high-speed blender until smooth. If you prefer a sweeter drink, you can also add 1 teaspoon of raw honey before blending. Sip away.
