We all know some of the obvious ways to get a flatter stomach are through a clean diet and good exercise.  But there are definitely some little ninja secrets that will give you 6-abs up on your friends if you can incorporate them into your daily routines.

Follow these little tips every day and you will be well on your way to shaping up those lean sexy abs.

  • Drink a glass of Lemon Water before each meal: It will help to reduce inflammation in your body, encourage healthy digestion by loosening toxins in your digestive tract, help to relieve symptoms of indigestion such as heartburn, burping, and bloating, and it helps flush out the toxins in your body by enhancing enzyme function and stimulating your liver.

  • Drink a glass of water with 1-2 Tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar every morning when you first wake up: Apple Cider Vinegar acts as an appetite suppressant, increases the body's metabolic rate by reducing water retention, and generally helps to maintain a feeling of wellness. It also improves digestion and cures constipation.

  • Take a quality probiotic every day: OReat real probiotic-rich fermented foods like organic yogurt, kefir, kombucha, kimchi, or kraut. Not only do good bacteria from fermented foods and probiotic supplements reduce bloating, improve digestion, and prevent food allergies, but it is also important for your immune system health and literally affects the rate of your metabolism and the expression of your genes!

  • Take digestive enzymes before your meals: Oftentimes, low stomach acid and poor digestion cause excessive belly bloat. When digestion isn’t working at optimal levels, you don’t get enough nutrients from your food, and you feel a constant hunger no matter how much you eat. This is why a quality digestive enzyme will improve digestion and absorption of essential nutrients and eliminate that bloating from meals. They help your body burn fat more efficiently as well.

  • Ramp up your protein/Dial down the carbohydrates: High-protein foods take more work to digest, metabolize, and use, which means you burn more calories processing them. They also help your body develop lean-muscle which will burn fat. Eat more sources of protein that contain all nine of the amino acids that your body needs in order to build lean muscle. These are known as complete proteins and are typically found in animal products. Focus on foods like skinless white chicken or turkey, seafood, pork tenderloin, and lean beef. Aim to reduce or eliminate carbohydrates and grains from your diet as well as these can cause quite a bit of bloating.

  • Eat a High Protein Snack Between 3pm and 4pm every single day:
No matter what, do not miss that snack. It is important because it boosts metabolism and balances blood sugar. The lower you keep your blood sugar, the lower you keep your insulin, and insulin is what makes you store fat around your middle.

  • Get Your Magnesium: Our bodies require magnesium for more than 300 chemical reactions, including keeping heart rhythm steady and regulating blood sugar levels, but in addition to its health benefits, this nutrient may also aid in weight loss and body shaping. It is associated with lower levels of fasting glucose and insulin (markers related to fat and weight gain), and magnesium supplements may have some beneficial effects on reducing fluid retention during the menstrual cycle, meaning you'll feel less bloated.  Aside from a quality magnesium supplement, some good sources of magnesium are: leafy green vegetables, beans, and nuts.

Take these little ninja secrets and use them every day. These tips, along with a challenging and consistent exercise program, are a good formula for flatter abs and a toned, lean body.
